GENERAL SERVICES
Do I stay in my car?
We still offer drive up service at our headquarters in Santa Monica. We also accept walk-up patients.
Do I need to bring an ID?
Yes, please.
Do I need my insurance card?
We only accept Medicaid of California (MediCal) for the no cost insurance option. You will need to show your insurance card to the technician upon arrival.
Which test should I get?
Depending on your particular need, we offer a variety of services. If you are unsure of what test to take, consult with your physician. If you are traveling, consult your airline or country destination’s website for entry requirements.
What are the differences between the tests?
We have 4 types of tests available. The RT-PCR test, The Antigen and the Antibody test. You can find more information on each of these tests in the links below:

How long will it take to be tested?
Once checked in, the technician will be able to administer the test in almost no time.
How is the test administered?
The tests vary with regard to how they are administered. Both the RT-PCR and Rapid Antigen tests are administered with a mid turbinate nasal swab. While the Antibody test is done with a simple, quick, prick of the finger.
When will I receive my results?
Result times can vary depending on the test, please refer to our booking page to see the result times for each test.

I want to book or change an appointment, what do I do?
Any issues with regard to your scheduled appointment can be handled by emailing us at relations@911CovidTesting.com.
Is there a cancellation fee?
You agree to a $50 non-refundable charge if a cancellation occurs after an appointment has been selected, and or if you “No-Show”. To receive a refund for any unused portion, you agree to send an email within 10 days to: Relations@911CovidTesting.com. Requests after 10 days will no longer be refunded. Refunds take 5-10 days to process and be returned to your account from when the refund charge was initiated. For all virtual tests, a $10 cancellation fee will be applied.
What does RT-PCR mean?
RT-PCR stand for Reverse Transverse Polymerase Chain Reaction.
Do parents need to come with me?
No, however we need to make sure they signed the consent form online when you were registered.
Do you offer Covid 19 vaccine?
Unfortunately, not at this time.
Do you do oral swabs?
Oral collections are not preferred, however upon request of the patient and/or when special consideration needs to be given for certain patient populations (ie pediatric or geriatric patients), oral swabs may be used as a last resort for our laboratory-bound PCRs.
Do you test children?
We test all ages from infancy on up.
Can I test myself?
We allow patients to self-administer their test with the supervision of our trained technicians.
BILLING INQUIRIES
I have insurance, am I eligible for testing?
At 911 Covid Testing, Inc. We only accept Medicaid of California (MediCal) for the no cost insurance option. We advise all patients to check with their provider before testing to confirm you are eligible for the no-cost insurance RT-PCR test.

Will my insurance cover this test?
Yes. With the passage of SB 510, California law makes clear that California health insurance carriers are required to cover the costs associated with COVID-19 testing, immunization, and health care services related to testing with no cost-sharing, prior authorization or other utilization management (the “California COVID-19 Coverage Law”):
[A] health care service plan contract that covers medical, surgical, and hospital benefits, excluding specialized health care service plan contract, shall cover the cost for COVID-19 diagnostic and screening testing and health care services related to diagnostic and screening testing approved or granted emergency use authorization by the federal Food and Drug Administration for COVID-19, regardless of whether the services are provided by an in-network or out-of-network provider.
The new California COVID-19 Coverage Law applies to all testing performed since March 4, 2020. It also expressly requires health plans to “reimburse the provider of the testing”
Will I need my insurance card when I get tested?
Yes, If you register using our 24-48 no-cost insurance test option, you will need to present a valid insurance card upon arrival for verification.
Do you accept all types of insurance?
We only accept Medicaid of California (MediCal) for the no cost insurance option.

What is an EOB?
An EOB or Explanation of Benefits, is a written summary of the claim submitted and its status from your insurance company. This is not a bill.
If you have any questions about this document, or receive any other correspondence from your insurer, please contact your insurer directly.
Can I get a copy of my receipt?
You are able to access your receipt/superbill via the confirmation email you received for the appointment. There is a tab on the page to the right that says “print invoice”. You can submit this document to your insurance. If you can not find your confirmation email contact relations@911covidtesting.com.

I need the procedure codes
Your procedure codes, as well as any other information needed by your insurance, will be provided to you in the invoice that is available on your payment confirmation page. Just click the “view/print invoice” tab and it will take you to a downloadable PDF. If you have any trouble navigating this, email us at relations@911covidtesting.com
Why did I receive a check from my insurance company?
Your insurer may send a payment directly to you rather than paying the lab. If you receive a check from your insurance company for COVID-19 testing, please email relations@911Covidtesting.com to assist you regarding this process.
You could also receive a check if you submit a superbill for reimbursement from one of 911 Covid Testing, Inc.’s paid for tests.
TRAVEL TESTING
Are your tests approved for airline travel?
When flying to any international destination, we recommend checking with your airline and the country’s covid testing requirements for travel before booking an appointment.
Can I add my passport number to my report?
If you are choosing one of our travel eligible tests, you will be able to add your passport information when you first register with us.
Do your reports come with a QR code?
Our Ultra-Urgent test is great for international travel because it comes with a live stamp and QR code for your convenience.

$150 Service Fee + Cost of the test (Available 24hrs)
Does insurance cover mobile testing?
Your insurance company may reimburse you for the tests, however, most don’t pay for the mobile service fee. Check with your individual insurance company.
